Mission

New Life Thrift is a non-profit thrift store organization located just North of Philadelphia in Glenside, PA.

Our mission is to care for the poor (Lev 19:9-10, Deut 15:7-11), the widows and orphans (Ps 68:5), the fatherless and homeless (Ps 10:14, 17-18, Ps 146:9) the strangers and the foreigners. (Lev 29:33-34, Eph 2:17-19).

Our goal is to sell quality goods at affordable prices

 

Our History

In 1994, the New Life Thrift grew out of the successful clothing cupboard ministry operated by Jennifer Nicholaides of New Life Presbyterian Church in Glenside, PA.  Prior to the purchase of its current location in late 2003, New Life Thrift operated with eight employees while using a retail space of 800 sq.ft. in the basement of New Life Presbyterian Church.  

Now in 2024, New Life Thrift employees over forty employees and operates through three store fronts. Our proceeds support the work of the Deacons of New Life Presbyterian Church as well as local and global non profits through multiple grants.

Grants

A group of Deacons have been selected as part of our Grant Committee. This committee is charged with disbursing the net profits of New Life Thrift. New Life Grants are designed for organizations providing mercy and outreach services to those in need.
